A woman who said she had been told by a garage that her car tyres were fit for the road appeared at last week's district court.
Lisa Kiernan, (29) of 22, Killane Drive, Edenderry, was stopped by Garda Trevor Mullins at Granary Court, Edenderry on July 27, 2022. Garda Mullins said the left rear tyre and left front tyre of her car were both bald. Ms Kiernan didn't pay the fine issued to her at the time.
Her solicitor Donal Farrelly said Lisa Kiernan had been told by the garage that her four tyres were in order.
Judge Andrew Cody asked her if she had gone back to the garage and she said yes and was told they were fit for the road.
Garda Mullins said there was very little depth to the tyres and she hadn't said anything about the garage when she had been stopped on the road.
Judge Andrew Cody put the case back to April 12 at 2pm for €500 to be paid to the court poor box. Otherwise he said he would convict her.
