Sohana: Man beaten up for refusing to fill air in car’s tyres, 6 booked – The Indian Express

Sohana police on Tuesday booked six people for allegedly beating up a man for refusing to fill air in the tyres of a car.
Police said that a case had been lodged on the complaint of one Honey, who operates an air filling station at a petrol pump in Dairi village, and investigations launched.
None of the six accused —identified as Manjinder Singh, Navjot Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Sukhi and Ankit — had been arrested yet.
The complainant told the police that the incident took place on the night of March 11, when he was sleeping in his shop.
“A man drove up to the shop around 11.30 pm and asked me to fill air in the tyres of his car. I refused cause it was late and I was half asleep. I told the man that air was not available at the moment, and he had driven away from the spot in a huff,” Honey said.
Later that night, the complaint stated, the man returned with some more people in the car. The accused then got down from the vehicle and proceeded to assault him. Honey added that he saved himself somehow by fleeing from the spot .
He was later admitted to Phase VI Civil Hospital in Mohali for the treatment of his injuries. He lodged a complaint with the police on March 27 (Monday), following which a case was registered under sections 323 (assault), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
