Road Transport Expo 2022: Contin… – News – Commercial Motor

Continental is putting sustainability and digitalisation at the top of the agenda for the inaugural Road Transport Expo 2022 (RTX), as it aims to help visitors to increase the efficiency of their fleets.
A brand-new event taking place from 30 June to 2 July, the Road Transport Expo has been designed with HGV operators at the forefront.
At RTX, Continental and retread specialist Bandvulc will demonstrate how operators can do their bit for the environment and reduce costs by optimising their tyre management processes.
Tyres can play an important role in fleet sustainability by reducing fuel consumption and vehicle CO2 emissions.
Continental said it can support customers to optimise their choice of rubber to balance low rolling resistance with enduring reliability and performance.
This, it added, helps to maximise overall sustainability throughout the lifetime of the tyre.
Fleet operators can also opt for Bandvulc and ContiRe retread tyres, which require up to 70% less resource in the manufacturing process when compared to new tyre production.
The digitalisation of tyre management is also key to delivering real world efficiency gains for fleets of all sizes.
Technological innovation, such as Continental’s tyre-pressure-monitoring system ContiPressureCheck and recently updated tyre-management platform ContiConnect 2.0, can provide operators with real-time condition data and precise longevity forecasting.
This data can allow technicians to remove much of the unpredictability associated with tyre maintenance and more effectively co-ordinate workshop activity to minimise downtime.
Continental will have a broad selection of its new and retread tyres on display over the three-day event, including examples from the Conti EcoRegional, Conti CrossTrac and ContiRe retread ranges.
Bandvulc will also have its BDY3 and BVC construction tyres and specialist Tankmaster tyre on display.
The show will also play host to the launch of an all-new Bandvulc product.
Specialists from the Continental Digital Solutions team will be on hand to provide demonstrations of the new ContiConnect 2.0 tyre-pressure-management platform and answer any questions about its tyre pressure monitoring system, ContiPressureCheck.
Additionally, attendees can learn more about the value that Continental said its fleet management programme, Conti360° Solutions, can add to fleet operators.
Peter Robb, marketing director at Continental Tyres, said: “Road Transport Expo provides us with an exciting opportunity to share our advice, guidance and expertise with the UK’s diverse array of truck users.
“As costs for hauliers continue to spiral, it’s important that businesses are aware of the steps they can take to make their vehicles as efficient as possible on the road, while also reducing preventable maintenance.
“We know that companies are also mindful of their environmental footprint, both for the need of our planet but also the advantage that it can bring to business. By using new and retreaded Continental-family tyres, operators can make a simple but effective step towards a greener fleet.”
