By Auto Today: JK Tyre and Industries has developed a new tyre using sustainable and recycled materials. This is a result of the brand's commitment towards sustainable development. The 'UX Green' tyre offers performance comparable to that of a standard radial tyre.
The JK Tyre UX Green tyre has been tested extensively indoors and outdoors on roads as well as on test tracks to validate the performance. It has been designed and developed in-house by the team at JK Tyre. Based on a decade-long research conducted at JK Tyre's Global Tech Centre, the R&D team has worked to create alternate solutions that will allow products to replace conventional petroleum-based materials with sustainable materials.

The range of such tyres will be offered in due course."
UX Green has been developed with highly sustainable materials like natural rubber, bio-attributed SBR and BR, bio-based oil, recycled rubber powder, recovered carbonaceous black, recycled polyester and steel wire. A majority of these materials are certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC).
JK Tyre recently launched the Levitas Ultra range of premium tyres for luxury cars. This range of tyres is compatible with models from all premium brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. These tyres have been tested extensively both in Europe and India and the company claims the Levitas Ultra range is at par and, in fact, better in certain aspects compared to tyres from other global brands.
The JK Tyre Levitas Ultra range is available in sizes ranging from 225/55 R16 to 245/45 R18. The company plans to further expand the range to include tyre sizes from 19 to 22-inch as well. The Levitas Ultra tyres have a 5-star efficiency rating from BEE and also have W and Y speed ratings making them capable of handling speeds of up to 270kmph and 300kmph respectively. JK Tyre Levitas Ultra range of tyres will be available across major cities in India from April 1, 2023.
