After crashing on Saturday when battling for second place, Michael Ruben Rinaldi showed on Sunday that he is one of the few riders with the potential to beat Alvaro Bautista in Barcelona.
Rinaldi was second going into the final corner but lost his place on the exit as Toprak Razgatlioglu moved into second place a few metres from the finish. Here's what the Italian Ducati rider said at the end of the race:
- We ended up on the podium, which makes me very happy. It's been a complicated weekend, I crashed just yesterday, then this morning I was in podium positions, but it started raining and I lost the place... Now I did a good race, I wasn't expecting the loss of performance from the rear tyre, but I haven't finished yesterday's race, so I didn't know. Maybe if there was a race tomorrow, I would be expecting it and could manage the wear better.
