Francesco Bagnaia will start third in the races of the Argentine MotoGP GP. Once again, Ducati had the upper hand in qualifying, this time in Termas de Rio Hondo, and the official team rider was 0.858s off the pole position of Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing/Ducati).
Speaking to the official broadcast, the defending champion admitted that he was apprehensive when making the bet on slick tyres and took many risks – leaving satisfied for having fulfilled the goal he set himself:
– I was a bit scared to change to the slicks because considering the amount of wet patches on the track it was a bit risky. On the last lap I took a lot of risk going into turn two. But in any case, I'm very happy. The objective was to leave on the front line and we did it. I'm happy, now let's continue to focus on the race, which if it's in conditions like that it will be very complicated.
