'I don't know why but the tyre was falling apart' – Augusto Fernandez – Motorcycle Sports

Austin sponsored the best result of Augusto Fernandez's career in MotoGP so far: a tenth place. The spaniard from Tech3 complained of difficulties in controlling the front of the bike, with the asphalt temperatures not helping.
'The point is that the temperature yesterday [saturday] was much higher and we didn't have so many difficulties. The front was kind of blocking, but we could see the mark on the right side of the tire and it looked like the rear, it was the same thing as the rear blocking. I felt that very early on in the race and I tried to manage it. It was the first time I had this feeling with this bike, it was very difficult to ride. But I think it was for everyone, because we saw a lot of crashes. But like I said the conditions were a little better, the temperature was lower than saturday, the times were faster... so there's no logical reason, but it was tough. We made it to the end, it wasn't easy. It was a big step compared to saturday', the rookie said, regretting the wear of the front tyre:
- The pressure increased, but in a normal way, as happens when you go after someone. The temperature rises, the pressure rises, but nothing crazy. I don't know why, but the tyre was falling apart.
