Marco Bezzecchi regretted crucial mistake in tyre management in … – Motorcycle Sports

Marco Bezzecchi not only kept his lead in the championship but extended it to the competition after the race in the United States. The rider was happy to stay ahead but warned that his current position means nothing, and I spoke afterwards about the problems he had in the race and how he forced the pace too soon.
Analyzing his race, the italian from Mooney VR46 Racing Team started by showing himself happy to remain as leader of the world championship: 'I'm naturally happy [to maintain the leadership of the championship], it's a great satisfaction but it's still nothing. It's too early'.
Afterwards, Bezzecchi explained at what point in the race he went too fast, ending up ruining later his position due to the extra wear on the front tyre:
- I'm happy for the weekend because on friday I had a lot of problems, yesterday I had a decent race and today it was very easy to make a mistake and so I'm happy with my pace, unfortunately I think I pushed a little too soon. I did 2:03.5s with nine or ten laps to go and then I ran out of the front tyre. Then the last seven were very difficult for me and I lost positions to Maverick [Viñales] and Miguel [Oliveira]. Apart from that I'm very happy.
