2023 F1 standings: Red Bull in dominant position after round three

After the first three rounds of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship, Red Bull Racing is already in a dominant position with its two drivers at the top of the Drivers' Championship, and the team sitting on close to double the points of the next best team in the competition for the Constructors' title. Reigning champion Max Verstappen has won two races versus the one of Sergio Perez.

In a surprise outcome this season, Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso has proven to be the biggest threat to the Red Bull duo. In his debut season with Aston Martin, Alonso has finished on the podium at every race, taking third in each of the races run in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and most recently Australia.

Mercedes-Benz AMG looks to be showing a return to form, with both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell delivering strong performance at the Australian Grand Prix. Ferrari also continues to show impressive performance, though drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have been held back from moving up the points ladder due to reliability issues and crashes.

At the other end of the spectrum, McLaren's Oscar Piastri has become the first of the season's three rookie drivers to score some points. Piastri scored four points after finishing eighth at the Australian Grand Prix. The other rookies are Williams' Logan Sargeant and AlphaTauri's Nyck De Vries.

A total of 20 rounds remain in the 2023 season, meaning a lot can still change.
